Here is the plain version, no lawyer voice. We will tell you exactly what we collect, why we need it, and what we will never do. If anything here feels off, write to us and we will fix it.
Only what the app needs to keep your count. That means your email for sign in, the meals you log with their calories and macros, your weigh-ins, and your goals and targets. We also see basic app info like your device type and crash logs, so we can fix things when they break.
We do not ask for your contacts, your location, or anything we do not use. If we ever want something new, we will ask you first and tell you why.
When you point the camera at a plate, that photo goes to our AI to be read. We use it to work out what the food is and roughly how much of it there is. Once the reading is done, the photo is not kept on our servers unless you choose to save it to your own meal.
To keep your ledger, show your trends, write your weekly review, and send the reminders you turned on. We also look at anonymous, blended usage to make the app better, for example which foods the AI struggles with so we can teach it more desi dishes.
We do not build an advertising profile of you. There are no ads in OwnFit, so there is nothing to target.
A small number of trusted providers help us run the app, like cloud hosting and the AI that reads your plate. They only get what they need to do their job, and they are not allowed to use your data for anything else. We will hand over data if the law truly requires it, and we will push back on requests that overreach.
When you share a week, only what you switched on in that share card leaves the app. Your weight is off by default and stays that way unless you turn it on.
You can export all your data as a file whenever you like, from Account. You can delete your account and everything in it, from our servers too, and there is no hidden copy left behind. You can turn any reminder on or off, and you can keep using the app with photos alone if you never want to type.
OwnFit is built for adults and is not meant for anyone under sixteen. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has signed up, tell us and we will remove the account.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, not bury it in a footer. Questions, worries, or requests about your data can go straight to a real person.
